Both criteria, which serve as the basis for Gregory Lee Johnsons conviction, have been explored in depth, and this court concludes the following Johnsons form of political expression did not cause societal disorder or disrupt the peace. There were no violent outbreaks, either verbal or physical, from members of Johnsons protest, or other citizens, who may view flag burning as a distasteful, ungrateful, slap in the face of our nation. However, the State of Texas has already acknowledged this fact. The State ruled that regardless of the lack of evidence that Johnsons actions have threatened societal order and public peace, on account there were no such occurrences, flag burning has the potential to do so. The State has concluded that flag burning could: first, stir up peoples emotions enough, possibly resulting in intense public arguments, violent physical disputes, or riots, and second, serves as an invitation for others to take political protests to the next level, which could be dangerous. The States decision brings up two questions, is flag burning as a form of political protest an agreeable method of practicing ones First Amendment rights, or an attempt to persuade others to take the act beyond the rights of citizens to more serious and dangerously, harmful, acts of protest?, and does the State have the right to claim that Johnsons conduct had the potential or indented to cause a violent encounter with passionate opposition to flag burning, even if the act did not do so?Johnson is an individual, responsible for his own actions, not the actions of others. He has chosen to practice his First Amendment rights, by expressing his disapproval of government leadership and polices, by publicly burning and American flag. It is this courts decision that Johnson has not intended to encourage others to take more drastic approaches of protesting government. Johnson can not be accountable for wrongful impressions of his intentions. The State has allowed itself power not granted by the United States Constitution, by convicting Johnson for an act that potentially causes violent confrontations. Had publicly burning a flag caused a fight or rioting, this would be an entirely different case. However, the fact remains, the protest resulted in no such event. There is also no evidence that Johnson intended his protest to provoke societal disorder. Again, the State has not the right to base charges of Johnsons intentions with no evidence, only expressing concerns of the potential negative effects of Johnsons actions. The States conviction is therefore unjust, based on its claim that Johnson has threatened societal order and peace. This does not disregard the conviction of Johnson entirely, the right of the State to preserve the integrity of the flag must still be discussed. Likewise, this courts ruling does not disregard the right of the State of Texas to promote and ensure order. History and common sense both show, order and peace necessary aspects of a stable, powerful nation and both must be ensured to protect American citizens. Therefore, by convicting Johnson for burning a flag as a means of political protest, rather than honorably disposing of an unfit symbol, the State of Texas has unconstitutionally ignored the First Amendment and ruled to dictate the circumezces for burning an American flag. The State has set its initiative and stated that flag desecration, as a form of condoning government, will be punishable by law. Government does not have the right to prohibit expression, nor the right to enforce its views on its citizens. If the flag is to beused as a symbol for everything great about America, it is the right of individuals, who disagree with politics of the time, to use that symbol as a sign of their concerns. Non Green method of preparation of Banana Oil Isopentyl alcohol was used to synthesize the banana oil. 15-mL of isopentyl alcohol was placed in a 100-mL round-bottom flask and 20 mL of glacial acetic acid was added. Then, swirl the flask and 4 mL of conc. H2SO4 was added carefully to the flask. A reflux condenser was set up to reflux the mixture for one hour, and then cool down the mixture to room temperature. After the mixture was cooled down, the reaction mixture was placed in a separatory funnel followed by 55 mL of cold water to separate the lower aqueous layer. Then, extract the organic layer (upper layer) with 25 mL of 5% sodium bicarbonate solution twice and also extract the organic layer with 25 mL of water. Finally, add 5 mL of saturated aqueous sodium chloride to aid in layer separation which removes traces of water from the organic layer. Lastly, Figure 3 illustrates the IR of banana oil in green chemistry was attached. Discussion/Analysis The preparation of banana oil was done by using non-green chemistry and green chemistry. As said above, sulfuric acid was used for non-green while the green chemistry was only used the microwave to prepare the banana oil. There are three methods for non-green method, which are reflux condenser, titration, and distillation. First trial, the preparation was stopped after reflux the mixture and it was kept in the refrigerator for one week. After one week, the preparation was continued until the distillation and the IR was obtained also. According to the IR, Figure 2, it showed that lots of water contamination in the product compared to the reference IR (isopentyl acetate). By knowing that, my group decided to do the second trial of banana oil preparation with non-green method and we put more drying agent in the first trial product. When the preparation was repeated, we stopped after titration process and kept in the refrigerated with drying agent for one week. And, the drying agent was also added in the first trial of banana oil preparation. In the 3rd week of experiment, the second trial of preparation was continued to the distillation process and followed by obtaining the IR of second trial preparation and the IR of product in the first trial with more drying agent. According to those IR, it really showed the significant differences between first trial and second trial. Figure 5 showed less absorption of water contamination compared to the Figure 2 in the first trial. Even though we added more drying agent in the first trial product, the IR still showed more water contamination than the second trial preparation but the water got reduced when we kept the product with drying agent for one week (Figure 3). By comparing these two trials, discontinue the preparation in the middle of the process had affect in the product which is water contamination. Due to the amount of time that we have in the lab, we couldn’t finish all steps for banana oil preparation with non-green method in one day. Therefore, the preparation of banana oil should be done in one day experiment for the future experiment to avoid lots of water contamination in the product and would have the better yield than this experiment (49%). For green chemistry, the banana oil was prepared under the hood and using the microwave radiation. Within 8 minutes in constant temperatures (110oC) and titration with sodium hydroxide, the preparation of banana oil was done successfully. Figure 3 showed the evidence that the banana oil was prepared effectively because the IR was closed to the reference IR (isopentyl acetate). The percentage yield was 65% which higher than the non-green chemistry’s percentage yield. The low percentage was due to the evaporation some the products when heating the substance in the regular microwave. If we used the microwave reaction vessel, maybe the mixture will not evaporate as much as we used the regular microwave. But, the IR really showed that the product was pure. Based on the result of two methods in preparation of banana oil, the green chemistry was really effective to use in real life. Beside is green, the process was done really fast compared to the non-green chemistry which can take more than one day if we use the large scale. The benefits for using green chemistry are eliminated the need for using sulfuric acid as a catalyst, and ether for the extraction, eliminates the need for the distillation, and also reduces energy consumption. Performing the experiment using green chemistry also enabled easy product recovery, easy recycling, microwave-promoted heating, completion of the chemical reaction in a matter of minutes, compared to the hour of reflux required with conventional heating (Sanghi, 2003) After doing this experiment, the limitation of directions should provide for the future experiments. The experiment time should be longer to finish the preparation of banana oil in non-green chemistry in order to have the high yield and pure products. For green chemistry, I believe that we should prepare in microwave that has temperature control and pressure inside which can reduce the evaporation when the mixture heated. Source possible of error that can be thinks of is the mixture was not reflux enough (less than 1 hour), Conclusion Isopentyl acetate was prepared by refluxing isopentyl alcohol with excess acetic acid and sulfuric acid. The acetate was obtained by distillation in 49 percent yield and a boiling point of 134-143oC. The acetates structure was confirmed using IR spectra. The IR spectrum (Figure 5) shows a strong absorption at 1740 cm-1 consistent with a C=O stretching vibration. Isopentyl acetate was successfully synthesized using microwave radiations instead of sulfuric acid. The acetate was obtained by titration in 65 percent yield. Upon examination of the IR spectrum, it was found out that the product spectrum had similarities with the reference IR. This indicated that the product obtained was in fact isopentyl acetate. At the beginning I told Emma that I was unable to focus on her query at that specific moment, but would make sure that tomorrow I would have more time to talk through her holiday requests. My priority was checking the monthly payroll. The task was set by my General Manager and I had only till the end of the day to check it. The most efficient and common within my role, it is used when I want to delegate jobs to staff members, within team meetings etc. This type of communication cannot be ignored and is particularly successful in motivating staff to do their jobs effectively. Although sometimes face-to-face can be difficult and cause problems; when dealing with a difficult situation it is sometimes hard to stay calm or always see eye-to-eye. Emotions can become visible which may cloud communication and further exasperate an event. E-mails. These are used on a regular basis. Most contact with external customers is through e-mail and so we need to make sure they are always answered swiftly. They are easy, effectively free and a very fast form of communication. For my internal customers I use an e-mail service for sending out rotas and other staff requests, therefore it is important to check it daily. Unfortunately, sometimes e-mails may be misread and people could feel offended by its content due to miscommunication. Also, some messages may be misplaced and sent to a customers spam folder and therefore treated as unsent and ignored, causing negative experiences. Feedback Forms. A very popular method that is used for one-to-one meetings, probation reviews and appraisals. These forms provide to customers a clear and concise outline of their positive/negative behaviour, and acknowledge, with their line manager, what kind of changes need to be made, creating a clear plan that could help with their development. Feedback can also help staff feel appreciated and increase their self-esteem. A disadvantage of feedback forms may be the subjective nature of feedback (as anyone within the management team can choose to provide a form without first going through any procedures or checks) leaving open the possibility of personal opinions clashing with a customers work ethic. Effective Service Delivery To be able to meet all customer needs the company should have an effective service delivery. Good working relationships and team work should be key to creating a good service delivery for our customers. Everyday I have to deliver satisfactory service on time. Whether it is with our external customers by replying to their e-mails or phone calls on a daily basis or for my internal customers when writing rotas and meeting deadlines set by Management or Head Office. It is essential for a HR practitioner to be able to deliver a service within a timely manner because that will help build trust with customers. Delivering a service on budget is essential in my work place as I have to deal with it on a daily basis. I am mostly responsible for payroll and, within my company, payroll is the biggest controlling cost. Every week we have to schedule staff according to expected business levels. On top of this, everyday we have to control our forecast and act accordingly to set hours, which may incl ude sending staff home when it is quiet or  calling more people in when it is busy. Dealing with difficult customers and handling complaints is not easy, especially external ones. Whenever I have to deal with one I am always focused, listen to the persons complaint, apologise for the problem and try to explain why certain situation have happened. Im always trying to put myself in their position and empathise with them. Sometimes just explaining things may resolve the problem because a customer may not understand something, be confused or simply be agitated and in need of assistance. I asses the situation and decide how best to resolve it (whether with a mere apology or free guest passes etc). If the customer is still not happy with the outcome and would like the complaint to go further, I pass the situation onto head office to be dealt with more formally. When handling and resolving complains it is important to stay calm, communicate and be aware how serious the complaint is. Sometimes is okay to to resolve it in an informal one-to-one meeting but if its something serious like Gross Misconduct, then the complaint must be dealt with formally which could result in dismissal. Looking at the Associate Membership criteria I would need to develop practical and technical HR knowledge and collating, analysing and interpreting data. These two areas stand out the most from the associated membership criteria because I know I could develop these skills better throughout my personal development plan and become a more skilled HR practitioner. Learning more about practical and technical HR knowledge will expand my awareness and make me a more rounded, proficient professional. And learning how to properly collate, analyse and interpret data is something I have yet to really learn and so will give me a crucial grounding for further development. In order to be able to grow within developing practical and technical HR knowledge I would have to gain a lot of experience by shadowing my HR manager and fellow colleagues. In my organisation it is very important to know as much as possible about the human resources department because we do not have many people on site with HR skills. After learning about HR development I could focus on one or two key areas, such as disciplinary procedures or maternity leave, which would add key areas of knowledge to my  current HR capabilities.
